Liberty Media set for $4 billion acquisition of MotoGP

01/04/2024 at 08:2101/04/2024 at 08:27 Liberty Media, Formula One’s commercial rights holder, is reportedly set to add MotoGP to its portfolio of sports franchises in a deal valued at $4.32 billion. The acquisition, which has been mooted since last year, would unite under one roof the pinnacle of four-wheeled racing with the premier motorcycle racing championship. According to Sky News, Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei could reportedly confirm the deal as early as Monday during a visit to Madrid, Spain, where Dorna Sports – parent company of MotoGP – is headquartered.
