Video To news overview Back in the 1980s and 1990s, Formula 1 was a wailing wall of hugely powerful engines screaming their way around the circuits of the world. While V10s became the engine of choice in the '90s, the last V12 in Formula 1 was used by Ferrari in 1995. Powering the truculent 412 T2, the engine note of the Ferrari that year has gone down in legend due to its sheer violence and excitement.
