Formula 1 could delay new regulations until 2023

Formula 1 could implement a further delay to the proposed new regulations as part of additional cost-cutting measures, according to Red Bull boss Christian Horner. Formula 1 was set to introduce a wide range of changes to the sporting and technical regulations for 2021. But the outbreak and spread of the coronavirus pandemic led to a unanimous agreement to defer the introduction of the regulations until 2022. The budget cap, set at $175m, will remain in place for 2021, while the current chassis will be retained next season. All aerodynamic development of the 2022 cars is outlawed until the start of 2021.
