Chadwick wins inaugural W Series title

Britain's Jamie Chadwick has won the first ever single-seater series for female drivers, the 2019 W Series championship. Starting from pole position, the youngster took the lead at the start of the season finale at Brands Hatch, ahead of Alice Powell, who had qualified alongside her on the front row. Esmee Hawkey, having qualified third, stalled at the start and was last on lap one. Third on lap one therefore was Finn Emma Kimilainen, who had been quickest in both the wet and the dry in the free practice sessions but had qualified only fourth.
