McLaren only realised their true potential in France

Carlos Sainz believes McLaren are starting to understand their Barcelona package better, revealing the team had to wait until France for real results due to the lack of quick corners at the Monaco and Canadian Grand Prix. Following their upgrade at the Spanish Grand Prix, McLaren achieved only one finish in the points in the next two races, Carlos Sainz's P6 in Monaco, before failing to score in Canada.
