Miami Grand Prix vote postponed to September

A decision over plans to bring Formula 1 to Miami has been put back by several weeks in order to allow more input from local residents. Formula 1 has been negotiating with the City of Miami to bring the sport to the city from October 2019, with a street race planned for the Bayfront Park and Port Miami district. City Commissioners were set to meet on July 26 in order to discuss, and vote on, the next stage of the process, but this has now been put back. “Last night we had a big vote on a proposed MLS [Major League Soccer] stadium,” a spokesperson for the City of Miami told Motorsport Week. “We want to make sure we do this right and F1 gets the full attention it deserves....
