Mercedes announces shake-up in F1 technical team for 2019

Mercedes has announced a series of personnel changes in its Formula 1 technical team that will take place across the rest of 2018 and into 2019. Engineering Director Aldo Costa and Performance Director Mark Ellis will both leave their roles, with John Owen and Loic Serra in turn stepping up. Costa joined Mercedes in 2011, after his exit from Ferrari, and has been regarded as one of the key figures in the manufacturer's successful spell in the championship. Costa is to take up the consultancy role of Technical Advisor from 2019 as part of his desire to spend more time with family in his native Italy.
