Drivers offer mixed views over 'shield'

– Formula 1 drivers have offered mixed views over the 'shield' head protection device that could be introduced from the 2018 season, rather than the 'halo' system.F1 chiefs previously favoured the 'halo', which wraps around the cockpit in the form of three struts, and was trialled during several free practice sessions and tests.Increased head protection was initially set to arrive in 2017, but this was delayed by a year, allowing further analysis to be undertaken on the available options.It has now emerged that the FIA is backing a transparent shield, on the top of the cockpit, which is set to be tested later in the season, ahead of implementation in 2018.Asked for their thoughts on...
