Ricciardo encouraged by “promising” high fuel runs

German Grand Prix – Daniel Ricciardo described his high fuel run in FP2 as “promising” relative to what their Mercedes rivals could achieve. Red Bull’s supersoft tyre laps showed them to be some eight tenths of a second off the ultimate pace and behind Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, but their race runs on the soft tyre looked much more encouraging for the Milton Keynes outfit. “I felt we got on top of it more in FP2 so I’m pretty happy where we are now.
