Bite-size tech: Toro Rosso STR11 floor

The STR11's floor is but one of the changes made to the car for the German GP, with significant design alterations made to try and improve downforce. The floor slots have been reduced in number from 15 down to 13 but are no turned at a 45-degree angle in order to change how the airflow reacts when interacting with them. Furthermore, the inboard vertical strake now has a slot midway along its length (arrowed) in order to allow air to move outward and improve efficiency.   Scuderia Toro Rosso STR11 detail Photo by: Giorgio Piola Above: The previous specification floor for comparison, captured in Monaco.
