Ferrari goes soft again in Germany

Once again, Ferrari favours the softest tyre compound as it looks ahead to Germany. Having opted to take nine sets of the softest compound to Hungary, the Maranello outfit is placing its faith very much in the red-banded tyres as F1 returns to Germany at the end of the month. However, whereas in Hungary, Ferrari is the only team taking nine sets of supersofts, in Hungary Sauber and McLaren follow suit. Mercedes and Red Bull will take eight sets of the supersofts while Force India, which can usually be relied on to try something different in terms of tyre strategy, takes just six.
