Alonso to take new engine for Monaco weekend

Monaco Grand Prix – McLaren's Fernando Alonso will take a new engine for the Monaco race, having encountered an issue in Spain. Alonso had been running in the points during the Spanish Grand Prix, but retired from the race towards the end due to his engine switching off. Despite the power unit not picking up any significant damage, McLaren have elected to change his engine and he will thus use his third power unit of the year. Speaking ahead of the Monaco round, he said that it's still not clear what caused the problem: 'We're still analysing. It was a switch change that we did to make some changes to the engine.
