Mercedes examined 1200 parts after Spain crash

World Champions, Mercedes have examined 1200 parts on the two ‘championship-winning' cars, after their drivers came together, and ending their race on the first lap.  Unlike the other 20 races, practice in Monaco takes place on Thursday – which means Mercedes have one less day to repair both cars, and staff will have to work over the weekend to ensure proceedings go smoothly. Mercedes' chief operating officer, Rob Thomas admits the parts had to be examined very quickly – with the prospect of the team needing to contact the various suppliers to those parts which were deemed to be damaged.
