Vettel gives full backing to ‘Halo' device

Sebastian Vettel supports the idea of implementing the ‘halo' head protection in Formula One, having sampled the device on the final day of testing. Ferrari's SF16-H was equipped with the protective unit during testing, which allowed Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel an opportunity to trial the system around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on days three and four respectively. The ‘halo' head protection system has been approved by Formula One's Strategy Group and is likely to be implemented for the 2017 in amongst a host of bodywork changes.
