Red Bull engage in talks with Renault as alternatives disappear
Russian Grand Prix – After a very public spat with engine partner Renault, Red Bull have been rejected by both Mercedes and Ferrari for engine supply for 2016 – leaving the team facing a very real possibility of not making the 2016 grid. Red Bull's owner, Dietrich Mateschitz has been very outspoken with threats of the team leaving the sport if they can't find a competitive engine. This also leaves the future of the junior team, Toro Rosso, in uncertain circumstances. Having been linked with Ferrari for a deal in 2016, it transpires that the Italian manufacturer has joined Mercedes in turning Red Bull down, as they do not want to power one of their rivals in the sport.
