Alonso set for 35 place grid penalty

Fernando Alonso is almost certain to start his 250th Grand Prix from the very back of the grid, after the McLaren driver has taken a range of engine penalties following the Russian Grand Prix. McLaren have spent four tokens on upgrading their ‘underperforming' Honda engine, however only Alonso received the new engine, whilst Button will need to wait for longer to receive the upgraded power unit. It is believed the Englishman will have to take penalties for a new power unit at the United States Grand Prix in Texas. The Spaniard will receive a new turbocharger, MGU-H and control electronics.
