McLaren to test new gearbox solution after Singapore issues

McLaren will test new gearbox solutions in Friday practice for the Japanese Grand Prix in the wake of its double failure in Singapore last weekend. Neither Jenson Button nor Fernando Alonso made it to the chequered flag at the Marina Bay circuit as the team lost one of its best opportunities for a decent points haul. Having looked into what happened, McLaren has come up with some tweaks that it hopes will ensure there is no repeat in the future. Alonso said: "We need to learn lessons from everything we do.
