Rosberg ahead of Hamilton in first Singapore practice

Nico Rosberg topped the timesheets ahead of his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton in Friday's opening practice session for Formula One's Singapore Grand Prix. Rosberg, who badly needs to finish ahead of his teammate in Singapore to boost his hopes of making a title challenge, was three tenths of a second faster than Hamilton around the demanding Marina Bay street circuit. Daniel Ricciardo was third fastest, almost matching Hamilton's best time, indicating Red Bull may be a threat this weekend as it performs best on circuits with many slow corners.
