Williams 'very sorry' to Bottas for tyre blunder
– Williams performance chief Rob Smedley has apologised to Valtteri Bottas after the team fitted his car with incorrect tyres during the Belgian Grand Prix.Amid confusion at his first pit-stop, Bottas was sent back out on track with one Medium and three Soft tyres, resulting in a drive-through penalty.Bottas, who started third, recovered to ninth position, but Smedley admits the tyre blunder was unacceptable, and must be investigated in full."I am clearly disappointed with what has happened to Valtteri," said Smedley."As a team we have made a mistake, and on behalf of the team I am very sorry that we cost him what could have been a podium position."There will be...
