Nothing to report as Lotus-Renault rumours persist

Lotus deputy team principal says there is 'nothing to report' from his side of the F1 paddock as speculation persists that Renault is closing on a deal to buy the team. As F1 returns to action following the summer break with the Belgian Grand Prix, much focus remains on Renault and its potential plans to ramp up its involvement as a fully-fledged manufacturer through the purchase of Lotus. Though it is believed many behind-the-scenes are pushing for Renault to make a full return to action – including Bernie Ecclestone – and a final decision is due in the next few weeks, taking on Lotus' existing debt is feared to be a stumbling block.
