Vandoorne must make it to F1 – Magnussen

McLaren test driver Kevin Magnussen says there would be something wrong if GP2 championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne does not graduate to Formula 1 in the future. Magnussen beat his fellow McLaren-backed driver Vandoorne to the 2013 Formula Renault 3.5 title, before progressing to a full-time F1 seat with the team the following year. The Dane was dropped at the end of 2014 to make way for Fernando Alonso and aside from a minor cameo at the season-opener in Australia has spent 2015 on the sidelines.
