Rosberg admits luck in Monaco victory

Mercedes AMG Petronas Nico Rosberg admitted that he received a slice of luck as he secured his third successive victory at the Monaco Grand Prix. Rosberg had trailed dominant Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton throughout the race and was 20 seconds behind the Briton when the Safety Car was deployed following an accident for Max Verstappen. Mercedes opted to pit Hamilton for fresh tyres, dropping the World Champion to third place and promoting Rosberg into the lead, which he duly retained across the final few laps to take the win.
