Hulkenberg finishes sixth for Porsche on WEC debut

Nico Hulkenberg enjoyed a successful debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship on Saturday by fighting back to finish sixth in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Racing alongside Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy in the #19 Porsche 919 Hybrid, Hulkenberg qualified in second place on Friday as part of a 1-2-3 lockout for the German marque at the front of the grid. Tandy took the start in the #19, but soon returned to the pits following a run-in with Porsche GT driver Kevin Estre that left the Briton in the wall and with damage to the front of the car. The team managed to quickly repair the car and send Tandy back out, albeit towards the back end of the LMP1 class.
