‘Helpless’ Ricciardo aggrieved to be lapped by Vettel
A frustrated Daniel Ricciardo says being lapped by former team-mate Sebastian Vettel was the 'icing on the cake' as he endured a troubled Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. Having qualified fourth in a rain-hit qualifying session, Ricciardo couldn't sustain a similar pace in the dry race and would spend a lot of his day fighting a rear-guard action after sustaining damage to the Red Bull's front-wing at the opening turn. Finishing behind his team-mate Daniil Kvyat, as well as both 'sister' Toro Rossos, Ricciardo says he felt 'helpless' as he struggled to put up a challenge. “Just helpless,” he lamented. “I feel like I come in fired up and ready to go, then it is hard to put up a fight....
