Alonso 'recalls heavy steering' from winter crash

Sutton Images Enlarge McLaren has revealed Fernando Alonso recalls a sense of "heavy" steering moments before his testing crash in Barcelona. Alonso crashed heavily at the Circuit de Catalunya on the final day of the second test and was left unconscious and concussed. As a precaution doctors advised he sit out the Australian Grand Prix to minimise the risk of 'second impact syndrome'. Details of the crash have not been made public but, in a press release on Monday, McLaren revealed Alonso's feedback has led to the installation of a new data sensor on the car.
