‘Impenetrable’ Hamilton claims off-track issues won’t affect him

Formula One World Champion insists latest split with girlfriend will not impact on-track performances. Lewis Hamilton has declared that recent issues in his personal life won’t affect his on-track performance, as they have done previously. Hamilton split with longtime girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger over the winter, and the last time this happened – in 2011 – Hamilton suffered an alarming dip in form, becoming embroiled in a number of on-track clashes. He had also switched his management back then, and has recently dropped Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment to represent him going forwards. But now, he says, it’s different.
