McLaren expects Alonso to race in Australian GP
McLaren will delay a decision on whether Fernando Alonso will return to the cockpit for the opening round of the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship season opener until nearer the time following his crash in pre-season testing. The Spaniard spent three nights in hospital following the crash at the Circuit de Catalunya, but while Ron Dennis confirmed there was a period of unconsciousness suffered, he is otherwise 'physically perfect'. Even so, with Alonso missing the final pre-season test, McLaren says it will defer the decision to put him back in the car for the Albert Park opener to doctors.
