Hamilton out of testing with illness

Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has withdrawn from the first day of the second pre-season test due to illness. The Mercedes driver, 30, had to stop running after completing just 11 laps at Barcelona's Circuit De Catalunya. He will be replaced by the team's reserve driver, German Pascal Wehrlein, 20, for the remainder of the day. A Mercedes spokesman said: 'Lewis had a high fever this morning. He did the first few laps but he didn't feel comfortable in the car.' He added that they were taking the opportunity to get Wehrlein used to the car as if Hamilton did not recover it would be unrealistic to expect team-mate Nico Rosberg to do all four days of the test.
