Ferrari: Engine development loophole an early victory

Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne says the regulation loophole allowing current manufacturers to develop their power units during the 2015 season is an early victory. The FIA recently admitted that the absence of a homologation deadline in the technical regulations means Mercedes, Renault and Ferrari will be allowed to bring updates – although they are limited to 32 tokens (around 48% of the power unit) – throughout 2015, but returning supplier Honda will not. Ferrari suffered a dismal 2014 season, failing to score a race victory for the first time since 1993.
