Frijns parts company with Caterham F1 Team

Robin Frijns has officially parted company with the Caterham F1 Team, with his contract having expired on Monday. Frijns was reserve driver at Caterham having been named as part of the line-up alongside Marcus Ericsson and Kamui Kobayashi back in January. However, a lack of funding hurt his chances of racing, with his track time limited to two FP1 runs and some test appearances as first Andre Lotterer and then Will Stevens raced for the team later in the year as financial issues hit, with Caterham still in administration. With Roberto Merhi also running in FP1 sessions, Frijns has already been looking elsewhere for opportunities and took part in a BMW DTM test at Jerez earlier this month...
