Sam Michael to leave McLaren after 2014 season

+ McLaren sporting director Sam Michael will leave the team at the end of the 2014 season to return to his native Australia with his family. According to a McLaren spokesperson, Michael informed the Woking-based outfit of his impending departure at the beginning of the season, back in March, but agreed to continue in his role until the end of the year. The 43-year-old’s departure comes ahead of Honda’s return to Formula 1 with McLaren next season, with the team still strongly linked with Ferrari's Fernando Alonso as part of  the Japanese firm's hunt for a marquee driver signing.
