Suzuka Qualifying: Rosberg nips it from Hamilton

Nico Rosberg fastest in qualifying at Suzuka Nico Rosberg delivered a mega-final lap in qualifying to claim pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix – his eighth top spot start of the season – denying teammate and title rival Lewis Hamilton as Mercedes locked out the front row for the race at Suzuka. Hamilton was always on the back foot as he recovered from a shunt in FP3 earlier in the morning, while Rosberg seized the upper hand on his first run in Q3 before delivering the pole time which was 0.197 of a second up on Hamilton's best.
