Force India to request review of Perez grid penalty

Force India have requested that Sergio Perez’s five-place grid penalty for the Austrian Grand Prix be reviewed after the team uncovered new elements of evidence relating to the last lap crash between the Mexican and Felipe Massa during the Canadian Grand Prix. Perez was handed the penalty after a high-speed clash with Massa’s Williams into turn one as the pair squabbled for fourth place on the final lap of the race in Canada two weeks ago, an incident which eliminated both drivers from the race. While Perez and Massa were both sent to hospital for precautionary checks before being discharged, the FIA race stewards in Canada deemed the Mexican responsible for the accident, handing him a...
