Chilton tops opening day of testing in Spain for Marussia

Max Chilton topped the opening day of the post-Spanish Grand test for Marussia. Chilton shot to the top of the time sheets in the dying moments of the session with a lap of 1:26.434 on the super-soft Pirelli tyres, relegating Lotus’ Reserve Driver Charles Pic down to second, the Frenchman having impressed on his first outing for the Enstone-based team. Lewis Hamilton, who had been quickest in the wet morning session, ended the day third overall for Mercedes with 79 laps completed of the Circuit de Catalunya. Kimi Raikkonen was fourth for Ferrari, on what was a difficult day for the Scuderia, with the Finn completing just 14 laps as a result of an early stoppage in the morning and a late...
