One Year Rewind – Deja vu in the Bahrain desert
Sebastian Vettel powered to victory at last year’s Bahrain Grand Prix. Incredibly, the top three drivers finished in the exact same order as they had in the previous F1 race at the Sakhir circuit 12 months earlier. Pastor Maldonado and Esteban Gutierrez (who also had a five-place grid penalty) joined the usual suspects in the Q1 dropzone on Saturday. The scrap for a place in the top 10 shoot-out was hotly contested, with Romain Grosjean, Sergio Perez, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, Valtteri Bottas – who actually recorded the same time as his team-mate in Q1, but progressed through as he set his first – and Jean-Eric Vergne eventually missing out.
