Renault confident despite admitting they're 'behind schedule'

Red Bull/Getty Images Renault have insisted that they are not 'months' behind schedule but admit that they are behind rivals Mercedes and Ferrari. Renault endured a troubled start to Formula 1's new era at the first test at Jerez as customers Red Bull, Toro Rosso and Caterham completed just 151 laps overall. But head of track operations Remi Taffin insists that Renault is in a better shape ahead of next week's test in Bahrain. "We're still behind schedule, but it's not a question of months," said Taffin.
