Brawn flattered by McLaren links but his focus is on fishing 30 January, 2014 Ross Brawn has denied reports that he is set to join McLaren as its new chief executive in the near future. The British team announced this week that Eric Boullier is switching from Lotus to be the new ‘racing director', but the Frenchman will report to an as-yet unappointed chief executive. Brawn, having stepped down at Mercedes, has been mentioned as the obvious candidate. But when asked by Britain's Sky on Thursday about the McLaren speculation, the Briton responded: 'I'm focused on my fishing at the moment — no discussions, no comments.
