Ecclestone names Horner as his 'ideal' successor

Sutton Images Enlarge Bernie Ecclestone has named Red Bull team principal Christian Horner as his "ideal" successor to the role of CEO of Formula One. Speculation over Ecclestone's future has heightened in recent weeks due to a high-profile lawsuit brought against the F1 supremo and other defendants relating to allegations of bribery during the sale of Formula One in 2006. The sport's majority shareholder, CVC Capital, has said it would replace Ecclestone if he is found guilty, although Ecclestone himself has denied any wrongdoing.
