Pic to serve drive through penalty in race
Caterham F1 Team
Charles Pic has been handed a drive through penalty for Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix.
Pic qualified in 20th place for the race but ignored the red light at the end of the pit lane when qualifying was suspended.
‘Car 20 crossed the pit exit line at 14:17:10′ read the stewards decision. ‘The red light was at 14:17:05. It is noted this is the second consecutive event in which the driver has driven through a red light.'
As a consequence, Pic must serve a drive through penalty within the first five laps of the race.
Pic had already been penalised prior to the Japanese Grand Prix weekend, courtesy of picking up his third reprimand of the year in Korea.
