Caterham extends Renault engine deal

Caterham has confirmed that it will stick with Renault engines and recovery systems until at least 2016, covering the early part of the turbocharged V6 powerplant era. The Leafield-based outfit joined forces with the French manufacturer in 2011, having entered the sport the previous year – as Lotus Racing – with Cosworth engines. A continuation of the partnership had been widely expected, with the Caterham brand itself and Renault's Alpine road car arm working together closely outside Formula 1.
