Ricciardo secures 2014 Red Bull seat
Daniel Ricciardo has finally been named as Sebastian Vettel's team-mate for the 2014 Formula 1 campaign, with Red Bull team officials choosing the current Toro Rosso driver as the replacement for sportscar-bound Mark Webber. The announcement, made by Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko during the 'Sports und Talk' show aired on Austria's Servus TV, puts an end to one of the biggest discussion points of the summer, with Ricciardo beating Lotus' Kimi Räikkönen to the vacancy. Ricciardo, 24, joined Formula 1 with the now defunct HRT halfway through the 2011 campaign, before earning a seat at Toro Rosso the following year.
