Tyre failures a new problem - Pirelli

Paul Hembery says Pirelli's multiple tyre failures at the British Grand Prix were caused by a new type of problem with its tyres. Pirelli has suffered several instances of delamination so far this season and has been working to resolve the issue. However, the tyre blow outs at the high-speed Silverstone saw dramatic blow outs on four cars, all on the left rear.
