Whitmarsh backs rule changes

Martin Whitmarsh believes the introduction of four in-season tests in 2014 will be a good thing for Formula 1 and young drivers. The FIA confirmed on Friday that four two-day tests following certain European races will replace the three-day Young Driver Test and eight filming days the teams are currently allowed. "The introduction of four in-season tests next year will not sit comfortably with some people who don't want more testing, but given that it replaces some other rather strenuous testing that will probably be a beneficial thing as it is arranged in Europe at circuits after we have raced there," Whitmarsh said in the Team Principals' Press Conference.
