Voice of motorsport diagnosed with cancer
Veteran F1 commentator Murray Walker has revealed that he is battling cancer, having had signs of the disease picked up during treatment for a recent fall.Walker, now 89, is famous the world over for his energetic – and often idiosyncratic – narration of motorsport events, but has been sidelined in his semi-retirement after breaking his pelvis in a fall at his home last month. It was during routine treatment for those injuries that he was diagnosed with a form of lymphatic system cancer.The Briton, who formed notable commentary partnerships with 1976 world champion James Hunt and current Sky Sports stalwart Martin Brundle, will undergo an immediate course of chemotherapy in a bid to...
