Lewis Hamilton struck with five-place grid penalty

Lewis Hamilton has been struck with a frustrating five-place grid penalty for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix, only an hour before the start of the all-important qualifying session around the Bahrain International Circuit. This comes after the Briton suffered a left-rear tyre failure towards the end of third practice, which in turn greatly damaged his rear suspension. After securing a sensational pole position last time out at the Chinese Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton’s hopes of repeating such successes has been dashed after his team confirmed that his gearbox would be changed following repairs made to his machine after suffering his tyre and suspension failure towards the end of the...
