F1: Perez penalised
Post-race time penalty drops Sergio Perez out of the points, thereby promoting Fernando Alonso to tenth. Alleged to out of position at the restart after the red flag, a breach of Article B5.11 of the FIA F1 regulations, the Monaco stewards heard from the Mexican and a team representative. Video evidence showed clearly that the front right wheel of the car was outside the starting box, therefore the standard 10 second time penalty was applied. This meant the Cadillac driver dropped to 15th, thereby depriving the American team of its maiden point. However, despite a woeful start to the season, Aston Martin gains its first point as Fernando Alonso is promoted to tenth.
