MotoGP follows F1 in freezing engine specification

MotoGP has confirmed that it will impose a freeze on engine specification for the 2026 season before heavily-revised bikes are introduced for the 2027 championship. Engine specification in MotoGP will be frozen for 2026, meaning factories must also use their 2025 engine designs the following season. The decision was made by the the Grand Prix Commission which approved the proposal in order to control costs and keep a level playing field as much as possible before MotoGP changes to new bikes in 2027.
