McLaren adds female racer Bustamante to young driver programme

McLaren has enrolled F1 Academy teenage racer Bianca Bustamante into its Driver Development programme, while the young Filipino will also represent team papaya in the all-female series in 2024. Bustamante’s credentials include multiple karting championships across Asia, participations in W Series, Formula 4 UAE Championship, Italian Formula 4, USF Juniors and most recently in the 2023 F1 Academy season. The 18-year-old has two wins and two podiums to her name this season ahead of the feeder series’ season finale in Austin next weekend.
