Hamilton’s car pulled aside for ‘extensive physical inspections'

The FIA has revealed in a document that seven-time world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton’s car was singled out for a detailed inspection after the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. After the grands prix, any car from the top 10 finishing positions can be randomly selected and subjected to checks that fall outside the scope of the standard scrutineering process. At the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, that car was Hamilton’s number 44 Mercedes. “After the race, car number 44 [Hamilton] was randomly chosen among the top 10 cars for more extensive physical inspections,” the FIA’s document read.
