Verstappen crowned champion after late Abu Dhabi safety car drama

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – Red Bull's Max Verstappen has been crowed champion after a late safety car saw the Dutchman pass Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton on the final lap of the race. The late drama ensured that Verstappen was able to pit from second place to jump Hamilton for the lead in the dying embers of the race. The stewards only allowed the cars between Verstappen and Hamilton through to pass the safety car just as the lights went out which left the Mercedes driver exposed to the faster Verstappen.
